Following in the footsteps of Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Diddy, Kanye West will soon launch his own signature fragrance and is reportedly in talks to start a high-end clothing line with Lanvin.

According to thedailybeast.com, Yeezy has been trying to work with the French designer for some time. “I know they’ve been trying to do something with Lanvin for a while,” an anonymous source told the site.

As far as the cologne is concerned, West partnered with Parlux to bring his scent to stores next year.

“It’s safe to say that we’ll be doing more strategic partnerships in areas like fashion and design,” ’Ye’s manager Gee Roberson explained to The Daily Beast. “Music is the foundation for everything Kanye does, but he doesn’t want to be defined only as a musician. He’s really a designer. He designs his sounds, his raps, all aspects of his tour. He wants to do deals where he can have his fingerprints on the product.”

Other business ventures include the rights to 10 Fatburger franchises throughout Kanye’s hometown of Chicago.

The rapper/producer’s critically acclaimed new album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was released yesterday (November 22). Stay tuned to XXLMag.com later today to find out the projections for the disc’s first week sales figures. —Elan Mancini
